Food Frontiers Hosted Virtual Investor Night Event 

Food Frontiers: Urban Food System Innovation Challenge, 2021 is a program designed to foster disruptive innovation, resilience, and sustainability in the urban food system.

The event was organized by the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Business Network (SBN),  co-hosted by the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) and the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), and was sponsored by SVP Limited and Turtle Venture.

More than 30 senior executives, investment professionals, tech investors, startup experts, and mentors from leading venture capital firms, private equity firms, impact investment firms, investment banks, asset management firms, corporations, and startup consultancy firms attended the virtual investor night.

Truvalu Enterprises Limited, SEAF Bangladesh Ventures, IDCOL, LankaBangla Investments Limited, Anchorless Bangladesh, NDB Capital, Strategic Finance and Investment Limited, Bangladesh Angels, BDVenture Ltd, Bangladesh Venture Capital Ltd, GAIN, UN WFP, BRAC EPL, DirectFresh, WorldFish Bangladesh were among the institutions represented at the session.

Food Frontiers Hosted Virtual Investor Night Event

Food Frontiers received an enormous number of submissions in a short period of time, close to 80 in total, from which 15 selected and extremely promising ideas/startups/enterprises conducted intensive and informative sessions with high-end mentors, trainers, and food and agro entrepreneurs. Technical skills such as food system, food safety, food system integration, technology adoption, practical business development skills, go-to-market strategy, and important soft skills such as business communication, storytelling, and pitching were taught there.

12 startups/enterprises were chosen from the 15 boot camp participants to pitch online in front of investors for funding, further investor connections, and mentorship.

Qzee, Inspira, iPage, Krishi Swapno, GreenGrain Cashew Processing Industries, Ghost Kitchen Bangladesh, Farmers Market Asia, Dr. Recycle BD, A Single Step at a Time, Jackfruit 360,, Nutrimix are the final startups/ companies that presented in front of the investors.

The event was anchored and hosted by Mohammad Kamrul Arefin, Managing Director and CEO of SVP Limited. Syed Mutasir Ridwan, SBN’s National Coordinator, and Dr. Ashek Mahfuz, Portfolio Lead, GAIN’s Global Alliance For Improved Nutrition (GAIN), as well as Saraban Tahura Turin, CEO, Turtle Venture, were among the attendees.
